Day #342

Date night with the hubby tonight! We tried out a new restaurant called Firebirds. It was DELICIOUS.

Day #341

I had the biopsy today. They actually had to do two. It looks like I got bitten by a vampire. Luckily they were able to tell me before I left their office that it was benign and nothing to worry about. Whew. Now 12 months before we'll probably have to do that again...

Day #340

Yuck. I got my bite guard today. The dentist says I grind my teeth. He's been saying that for a long time, but it wasn't until I kept waking up with a sore jaw and headaches that I finally gave in and got fitted for it. I hope I get used to it because it's not really the most comfortable way to sleep.

Day #339

Hubby normally makes the stew, but he forgot to prep it last night before bed. So...I attempted to put it together. I guess we'll see how it works out in about 8 hours!

Day #338

Someone had a long day! :)

Day #337

Last run of the season today! I didn't get my best time (the muscles were COLD), but it was fun.

Day #336

Such a handy hubby. This year he got brave and decided to hang lights along the ridge of our roof. It looks beautiful and I'm very happy I wasn't the one on the ladder!

Day #335

The decorations are out! Although, I'm not sure where to put them all this year...mostly because most are breakable and this little one wants to TOUCH. Thankfully he's been kind to one of my favorite snow globes so far.

Day #334

His owl hat is so cute. I really wish I could get him to keep it on his head!

Day #333

I have secured the LAST 11 dark red bows in this town! The ones on our wreaths that go on the windows on the front of our house are severely faded and needed to be replaced. Apparently these are the hardest things to find this time of year. Every store has the bright red ones, but we are dark red type people. So hard to find, but I did it. Whew!

Day #332

I have discovered that if I leave Leesburg between 5:40 and 5:45 we get home in exactly 30 minutes...not the 45/50 that we are used to. Wahoo!

Day #331

Santa's helper has been helping mommy do some Christmas shopping after work these days. Love!

Day #330

Lunch with a view! We ran a bunch of errands today so we stopped at Wegman's for a quick lunch. Tyler liked watching all of the people below while he ate his fruit.

Day #329

The Luke boys came over to play tonight and I got to decorate gingerbread houses with Gavin which was super fun!

Day #328

Went to a Christmas craft fair with the mom-in-law today. It wasn't such a great fair, but I got out of the house sans-Tyler for an hour or two.

Day #327

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Day #326

G.G. is visiting us for a few days for the holiday. Tyler is soaking up the lap/book reading time!

Day #325

Tyler is experimenting with using his toys for their not-intended purpose...at least he hasn't figured out to turn the table over AND THEN stand on it!

Day #324

Have you ever made cranberry sauce from scratch? Yeah, neither have I...until today! I'm a straight-from-the-can jellied cranberry sauce type of person, but I did actually like the whole berry one I made. Success!

Day #323

We got him to leave his glasses on for a little while...now if only I could get him to leave his winter hat on!

Day #322

The Freeze Your Gizzard 5k was this morning. I convinced my sister-in-law to run it with me. I conveniently did not tell her it was a cross-country course. We survived...  :)

Day #321

A dinner date with the Luke boys tonight! A great time was had by all.

Day #320

We had a pot luck baby shower lunch on our floor at work today. I cooked pulled pork in the crock pot AT work. I was afraid the smoke alarm was going to go off, but it didn't. Wahoo!

Day #319

Someone has discovered the window button. Luckily it was unseasonably nice out today. He would roll down the window and wave to the people next to us in traffic. Love this guy!

Day #318

I can't get this kid to wear a hat to save my life! He leaves them on for about five seconds before ripping it off. I don't know how I'm going to keep a hat on him this winter!

Day #317

A photo from this weekend that I just had to share. I love weekend mornings spent in our jammies hanging out. And, you can see Tyler's latest favorite...rides in the laundry basket.

Day #316

The next time I have a baby shower or bridal shower to attend, remind me to leave Tyler at home with Bryant! I love the kid to death, but he's just not the type to sit in the corner and play with small toys. No, he wants to run all over the place and inspect everything. The location of today's event actually had a small kids play room down the hall from the event room, but of course I needed to be in there with him. So, we spent the entire shower in that room by ourselves. Oh well, lesson learned!

Day #315

Another birthday party today! This time it was at a jumping gym with giant inflatable bouncy houses and slides. Tyler had a GREAT time!

Day #314

Kenneth's funeral was today. It was sad, as all funerals are, but we all know he's back with the love of his life, Paulita.

Day #313

Evil Kinevil has figured out how to climb up on mommy's Tupperware boxes. Definitely a reminder for me to put them away quicker!

Day #312

Tyler reading stories to Rocko. I love these guys.

Day #311

Enjoying the little moments with my little guy.

Day #310

We didn't have daycare today, and I'm in the middle of some large projects at work, so Bryant stayed home with Tyler. Surprisingly, neither went crazy before I got home! Looks like Tyler was a good helper, helping daddy prepare dinner for mommy.

Day #309

We got to visit nana and pop pop today. Tyler suckered pop pop into letting him flip all of the light switches. Of course pop pop obliged...he an electrician!

Day #308

The bad news this week just keeps coming. Heaven got another angel yesterday. We love and will miss you Uncle Kenneth.

Day #307

We got some bad news yesterday. A good friend is battling an aggressive form of cancer. The prognosis is not good, and it's devastating to think about his family and children dealing with this terrible disease. It certainly puts things in perspective. I know I'll be hugging my son and family a bit closer tonight.

Day #306

I had some fun today and went to CVS to pick out cards. I'm getting a little bored with the card selection at Giant which is usually where I get my cards since I can tackle them while grocery shopping. It was nice to have such a selection. I can't wait to mail them!

Day #305

I think someone is cutting more teeth. That, or we're going through another phase, and this one is a doosy. In addition to wanting to be held all the time, Tyler now also will not go to sleep unless one of us is in the room. We've spent the last few nights sitting on the floor of his bedroom for an hour or so until he goes to sleep, but if he wakes up in the middle of the night he won't go back to sleep unless we are in there again. So, I've resorted to sleeping here...on his bedroom floor...

Day #304

Apparently Tyler thinks Rocko is a horsey. Thankfully Rocko is such a good boy and puts up with it. Love these guys!

Day #303

Super man! He was so cute in his costume. I think we might dress him in it this weekend just to play around the house. Everything he does is funny when he's in costume. Rather than trick-or-treating since he's so young, we lined the streets of Leesburg to watch the Halloween parade. I thought he might not like the sounds with all of the fire trucks and marching bands, but he did really well. Despite staring at a few scary masks that walked by, he did great and we all had a great time!

Day #302

Thankfully we had a birthday party to go to yesterday, so we had a good reason to get out of the house despite the weather. Tyler enjoyed himself once he got used to the crowd of people, the noise, and found the toddler section.

Day #301

Yes, that is snow, and yes, it is only October 29. I hope this isn't a sign of the winter to come. This wasn't fun snow either. It was mixed with rain, so it was very heavy and wet. Yuck.

Day #300

I gave the little one a tupperware with some Cheerios for the ride home today in homes of making it at least halfway home before the screaming started. About five minutes down the road I heard every one of those Cheerios hit the floor and turned around to see this! Guess I'll be vacuuming my car this weekend...

Day #299

The last time I was near these tools I was getting a sneak peak at the alien growing in my belly. Today, not so much. Today included the "C" word and the doctor literally saying "No offense, but you have a really ugly thyroid." Nothing urgent or really bad going on, just the usually yearly check and biopsy follow up to make sure everyone is playing nicely. I'm sure everything is fine.

October 27, 2011

Day #298

Had an EARLY morning business meeting this morning. Yup...I was 45 miles from home BY 7:00 am. It was a long day, but a successful event.

Day #297

What can I say...I'm NOT winning the mother of the week award over here. Some nights you just need to make it work, even if that includes a less than nutritious dinner.

Day #296

He's so good to me. I love getting his little notes every once in a while. They totally make my day!

Day #295

I made these super cute jello ghost cups for the kids that came last night. I know they were for the kids, but I LOVE them!

Day #294

We had all of Bryant's cousins and kids over again tonight, which translates into my basement becoming a zoo with all of the kids. But, they have fun, and no one got hurt! It's great to get everyone together every once in a while.

Day # 293

The boy and his shadow. We had some fun just walking around the neighborhood today.
