Day #117

Well, we awoke at 4 am this morning to a terrible storm. Turns out there were tornado warnings in the area (sure felt like it when the entire house shook from one crack of thunder). But, April showers bring my favorite spring time color out...lime green! I heart spring.

Day #116

Where's Waldo Tyler?!?

Day #115

Another photo too cute to resist...Tyler squating at the window watching daddy cut the grass.

Day #114

The table is set for guests to arrive. Happy Easter!

Day #113

The Easter bunny visited Tyler and brought him a wagon FULL of fun summer things. We'll sure be having a great time swimming and taking wagon rides all summer. Thanks Easter bunny!

Day #112

It's Easter weekend and you know what that means...time to bake! I simply don't have the time to bake as much as I used to, but I did whip up two yummy pies, one being my ALL TIME favorite...lemon meringue pie. YUM-O!

Day #111

Tyler helping daddy put together the new weed whacker. Too cute to resist. Already helping daddy with the chores...

Day #110

Back to the grocery store...again. I went to the grocery this weekend, but I had the hubby and Tyler with me, so I wasn't as productive as usual. It seems I managed to forget to get at least one ingredient for every meal I planned to make for dinner this week!

Day #109

Such a big boy! I can't believe how fast they grow! We got his new car seat this last weekend. This one is great since it can face backward until he's 40 lbs or simply can't cross his legs enough to fit, AND face forward after he is a year old until he's 70 lbs! I'm only sad because it's a rather large seat and now I can't see the mirror in the back to see him while I'm driving. :(  Plus...check out his super cute shoes. Had a heck of time finding ones to fit his chubby little feet, but they are great since he's playing outside more and trying to take some wobbly steps.

Day #108

I am just not meant to commute to DC every day. I realize that there are those people in the world, but I am not one of them. I had to go to DC for a seminar today. The event was great, but the two hour commute each way just sucked the life out of me. I made it there in the morning OK, but got a terrible case of train sickness (the Metro version of car sickness) on the way home. By the time I got to my car I just needed to lay down and take an extra strength Tylenol. But alas, had to race up the toll road to get Tyler.

Day #107

The rain has cleared up today, but it's still pretty windy outside. Tyler an I ventured out to get his new big boy car seat since it is on sale and we needed to get out of the house. But, other than that we explored the house and played "watch the neighborhood" at the windows with Rocko.

Day #106

What a beautiful weekend. It's the kind of day that you just want to sit on the couch and watch movies...but alas, mommy is on entertainment duty. Luckily we didn't have any commitments today so we were able to hang out for most of the day. We did venture out to dinner with the neighbors, and made it home before the really heavy storms started. April showers bring May flowers right....?!

Day #105

There will not be enough coffee to get me through this day. I went to sleep at 3:00 am last night and woke up at 6:00. Sadly, so did Tyler (*warning to daycare*). Either we are in a new phase, or he's having trouble getting that fourth tooth on the top all the way through the gum. His teeth were clearly bothering him, but of course if he had a distraction (trying to play with mommy at 2 am) he was perfectly fine. He is also testing me by playing the throw everything out of his crib and scream until mommy puts it back game...over...and over...and over. So, of course when mommy stopped playing the game he was mad. I resorted to simply laying on the floor next to his crib and pretending to be asleep (to rule out any separation anxiety issue in case that was playing a role in this joyful evening). After being pelted with toys and binkies and sneaking a binkie back into his crib when he wasn't looking, and letting him cry for a bit, he FINALLY went to sleep....at 3am.

Day #104

My little man has broken four teeth through in the last week! Maybe now he'll want to eat more than pureed food and graham crackers! Let's not talk about the gap between the teeth. I'll start saving for braces now. I on the other hand have to go to the dentist today for my check up. I'm not a fan of the dentist...

Day #103

I turned around for one second and this is what I found...he crawled right in there to splash in the water left over from my shower!

Day #102

We had our first mowed lawn of the season last weekend. I LOVE it. Spring is here!!! I love a mowed lawn just as much as I love vacuum lines in the carpet. Of course our neighbor hates that Bryant likes to mow the lawn so much...you can see in the upper corner that hers now looks a mess. I'm sure she'll be calling her lawn guy in a few days. :)

Day #101

We had a visit from grandpa yesterday. AND, grandpa even fed Tyler his yogurt snack! Tyler was so happy to have grandpa feed him, I think he would have eaten peas if grandpa gave them to him!

Day #100

We had a GREAT time at the birthday party yesterday. Here is Tyler playing with Gabriel. AND, we survived the wedding despite a small scream from Tyler right when the bride started down the aisle...

Day #99

Our bags are packed. We're ready to go!

We have SUCH a busy day today. A two year old birthday party in Winchester followed immediately by a wedding in Front Royal. It's going to be a busy afternoon. I hope Tyler doesn't have a meltdown during the wedding!

Day #98

Let there be life! Our cherry tree out back is blooming. It is so beautiful! So beautiful that we clipped a twig off an brought it inside to enjoy on a vase on our kitchen counter.

Day #97

I had to drive all the way to Annapolis today to look at the site for an event my company is hosting in May. The event will be a logistical nightmare, but at least it was a beautiful day for the drive out there. If only I had time to stay and walk around the waterfront!

Day #96

Got the basement cleaned today. The blocks were stacked by the wall with glee...

Day #95

I heart vacuum lines.

We have some visitors coming on Sunday and of course this house is a mess. So, each evening this week I'm tackling a bit of cleaning since we have a very busy Saturday this weekend too. The OCD part of me LOVES vacuum lines. I'd vacuum every day if I had the time!

Day #94

Can you believe it was 90 degrees here today! It's barely even April! Of course it won't last for long...they are predicting a "chance" of flurries by the end of the week. BUT, Tyler and I soaked up as much sun today as we could by enjoying a nice neighborhood stroll after work.

Day #93

Well, one benefit of being sick all weekend is that I got a LOT of laundry done...now if only someone would fold it for me so I don't get my germs all over the clean clothes!

Day #92

Venturing to Goodwill today with a truck full of giveaway stuff. Wahoo!

Day #91

The plague has hit again. Although, this time it started with me. So, I have been going through the house with these handy fellows in my hand everywhere I go. I'm dreading the mid-to-end of next week...PLEASE have mercy on me and do not let the hubby or munchky catch my cold!!

Day #90

Aren't these flowers simply beautiful? They have been brightening my days this week despite the unseasonably cool weather. Would you believe they are over a week old? YES! Not only do we buy our meat in bulk at Costco, but I also buy my flowers there. No...you do not need to buy 24 dozen at a time. You can buy just one bunch...this one for only $8.99 and they last FOREVER! I honestly have not bought a bunch from there that did not last at least 2 weeks.

Day #89

I had an event this morning that happened to be in the building that Bryant and I used to work in. This odd looking building is "where it all began" as they say. Being there brought back SO many memories. It's funny how the memories seem so long ago, but I still feel like we're newlyweds. I guess that's a good thing!

Day #88

This my friends is the greatest invention EVER. Hubby and I got this for our wedding (3+ years ago) and have been faithful users. We go to Costco and buy our meat in bulk, and then freeze it in portion sizes using this handy contraption. I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone....although I do wish we had a larger freezer sometimes!
