Day #87

I realize that it's really cold here despite recent weather teases, but that's not going to stop me from dreaming about warmer days to come. Today's breakfast shows one of the top reasons that spring/summer is my favorite...fresh fruit! Today it was a yummy topping to my yogurt and granola...tomorrow a smoothie perhaps.

Day #86

I turned around for one minute and he crawled his way into the dishwasher. Guess he thought he'd help mommy put away the dishes!

Day #85

Dinner date! Actually, just a dinner night out with cousins. Tyler and Brianna were so super cute together, and we actually managed to finish eating before either one had a meltdown. Success for our first dinner out with Tyler. Thanks Brianna for keeping Tyler entertained!

Day #84

I FINALLY did it. I hit 3 miles in 30 minutes on the treadmill today. Peanuts for some people, I know, but the first time for me since Tyler was born. Feels great!

Day #83

I found these beautiful gems on my desk this morning courtesy of my office-mate's garden. They have certainly brightened my week considering that despite the beautiful weather last weekend, spring is NOT here. Temperatures are in the low 40s and snow is expected this weekend.

Day #82

I did it! I saved a life today and donated blood to the American Red Cross. The idea of having blood taken doesn't bother me since I have to get it taken pretty regularly to check my thyroid. But, because of that I am aware that I tend to get a bit woozy after they take the tiny bit needed for my thyroid test. So, needless to say, after they took a full pint for my donation I had to hang out in the blood donor bus for a while to regain my strength and not pass out. But, I DID IT!

Day #81

I am SO grateful that I do not have to drive to Tysons very often. The construction going on in that area is just crazy. There are so many orange cones it's hard to even figure out which way you are supposed to go. I sure hope it's all worth it in the end...assuming it will end one day.

Day #80

It's FINALLY nice enough to go for a stroll around the neighborhood after work with munchky. AND, to my surprise he was not bothered by the strong wind (he hates any sort of breeze). Spring is coming!!

Day #79

Proof that he is starting to eat solid food, but at this point it's just milk, pureed food and cheese puffs. Wonder if he'll even eat his birthday cake!

Day #78

Went down for a nap with normal hair and woke up with this. It wouldn't even stay down after I got it wet!

Had dinner at the neighbor's tonight with all of the kids. Tyler made a new partner in crime as they reorganized the neighbor's DVD collection.

Tyler was not too happy about grandpa's St. Patrick's Day costume.

One of the perks of getting to work from home during the week...seeing my four-legged son basking in the morning sun.

We have come to discover that Tyler is a light sleeper. He wakes from even the slightest sound...Rocko doing his morning stretch and shake, the click of the gate at the top of the stairs...you get the idea. Bryant seems to think that if we had a white noise maker in his bedroom that he wouldn't hear these things and wake up. So, we've invested in this fancy machine (the only one I could find that will plug in to the wall and play continuously without a timer). Crossing my fingers....

Day #73

I've been working the last few weekends to clean up MY spare room upstairs since it was sort of a dumping ground during the holidays and painting of our bedroom (the hubs has about 1000 square feet in the basement for his wood shop, so I get the 400 square foot spare bedroom as MY space). While doing that I came across my old black and white camera and film. I love photography, and in high school and college took black and white photos a lot. I practically lived in the darkroom at college. Anyway, I found two rolls of black and white film that are going to expire later in the year so I loaded a roll into my trusty old camera (a hand-down from my grandfather). This blog has definitely gotten me back into taking photos, a hobby that I love. We'll see if I still have the eye for these black and white photos. Maybe in a few months I can scan some of the photos to share here!

After the untimely passing of my mother-in-law's German Shepard Jackson she and her husband are now the proud parents of this furry fellow. He's only a few weeks old, but look at those paws - he's got a lot of growing to do!

We had a baby shower for a coworker at the office yesterday. I'm so happy for her. I remember the anticipation and excitement like it was yesterday! Check out this beautiful fruit spread we had. I could eat the whole thing. So delicious!
